Where should I hang my new Prism/Sparkle Suncatcher?

For maximum prism glimmers, hanging your new Sparkle Suncatcher in the path of direct sunlight is best. You absolutely can hang it by a window- but don't be afraid to experiment. I have a few near walls, that get sunlight from a window across the room, and it works out perfectly!

What kind of rainbows do the glass prisms make?

I (Amanda) use a few different varieties of glass prisms. Clear and lighter coloured (think pastel) prisms throw out disco ball like glimmers. Darker coloured prisms (like primary colours) give off glimmers that are a similar colour. For example, a deep red prism will have red glimmers. Iridescent or Aurora Borealis/AB style prisms cast multicoloured glimmers. Slide through the photos to see the differences!

What are the Prisms made of?

Each prism is made of glass. Some are coloured, some have a special foil to give a rainbow effect, and some are translucent. Coloured + translucent prisms will cast mini rainbow glimmers as light shines through them. Dark Rainbow prisms have colour shifts on the front of the prism in blues, greens, purples + pinks. The silver back reflects light, like a disco ball effect.

Are the D.I.Y Kits suitable for kids?

The kits are really simple to assemble, which makes them great for kids. I think most kids over age six will get the hang of how to thread the mini hex prisms onto each ring with minimal adult assistance. Don't be too distressed if you end up with some extra rings at the end. I include extras just in case!

How do I clean my new Sparkle Suncatcher?

I pack a soft micro fiber cloth with every Sparkle Suncatcher. They are perfect for removing dust and finger prints. Chemical cleaners can damage your suncatcher, so steer clear of those.

Where are the D.I.Y Kits made?

I(Amanda) curate every single component, and assemble each kit with my own two hands! I source the glass prisms from China, India + Korea. The gold plated elements are sourced through Italy, China + India. The product card + instructions are all created by me, and printed in Ontario, Canada.

Can I choose to have my Sparkle Suncatcher pre-built?

I build a wide variety of Sparkle/Prism Suncatchers that are already put together, ready to hang or gift, if building is not for you. Head to the main menu to check them out.

Is a Sparkle Suncatcher safe for kids?

Yes! Kids love sparkles and rainbows, so Sparkle Suncatchers bring them a lot of joy. That being said, each Sparkle Suncatcher is made of delicate glass pieces and small parts that can pose a choking hazard. I highly recommend that you hang Sparkle Suncatchers out of the reach of curious fingers.
