Canada Post Strike Action Plan 2025

Here we (possibly...) go again!

First and foremost, MSE stands WITH the postal workers. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already knew this- but before I dig into how I plan to handle this potential strike, I wanted to ensure I made that crystal clear.

Canada Post strike action is slated for May 22, 2025, unless a deal is reached. Regardless of whether it does or does not happen, I am going to move like it will. During the strike in winter of 2024, I felt like I was scrambling to find solutions, and I also didn't love that orders got stuck in transit...because the STRIKE!

This time around, I have made a few simple adjustments. Starting Thursday May 1, I will be removing Canada Post as a shipping option. I am opting for Local Pick Up + a $9.99 flat rate for tracked orders using UPS/Stallion Shipping (Intelcom/UniUni). This should decrease the chances of orders getting caught in the strike backlog.

Additionally, shipping days will change. It's a bit of a trek to reach the closest depot, so I will be shipping orders on Monday, Wednesday + Friday. There are a few other considerations that I want to remind us of- there will be delays + backlogs with shipping, even for curriers. Our expectations of 2 day delivery may need to be adjusted. Lastly, I can track orders, just as you can. I won't be able to recall any orders once they are handed over to a postal courier. I know if you call, they will tell you otherwise. I also know from experience that recalling a package is RARELY efficient or effective.

I am more than happy to help you track your order, and help if it gets lost! Don't be afraid to reach out to me. I will do my best to update here, socials etc. if we need to navigate through another Canada Post strike!

Fingers crossed,

Amanda xx
